# Create and edit spaces

> Add store details, images, hours and locations on several floors.

Each store (or unit, or space) is one place visitors can search for. The more complete it is, the less visitors need to look elsewhere.

## What to fill in

* The official **name**.
* One or more **categories**.
* A short **description**.
* A logo and some gallery images. Each image can be up to 1.5 MB (JPG, PNG, WebP or SVG).
* **Website**, phone and other contact details.
* **Opening hours**.

Residential projects also have bedrooms, bathrooms, area, rent and availability.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Vacant stores don't appear in search. Retail stores need a category before visitors can select them on the map.

## Stores on several floors

Create the store once and link its other locations. Visitors then see it once in search, and directions let them pick a floor or **Nearest entrance**.

**1. Open the main store**

In the directory, select the store and choose **Edit**.

**2. Link the other location**

Under **Linked locations**, choose the store on the other floor and select **Link location**. Its details now come from the main store.

No record yet for the other floor? Select **Add location**, then draw it in [Map spaces](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/directory/map-spaces.md).

**3. Check it**

Search for the store in the viewer and ask for directions.

To separate a location again, select **Unlink**. It keeps a copy of the current details.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Linking locations does not connect floors. Floors are connected by stairs, elevators and escalators. See [Floor links](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/wayfinding/vertical-connections.md).

## Search

CX adds search words in the background when you change a store's name, description or category. Wait a moment, then test important words in the viewer.
