# Street map

> Show the streets and surroundings around your building.

The street map shows the streets around your building, so visitors can see where entrances and parking are. It uses OpenStreetMap.

## Place the building on the map

**1. Open Map location**

In the [floor plan editor](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/project/floorplan.md), choose the **Map location** tool (M).

**2. Find the address**

Type the building's address, or paste coordinates such as `43.1868, -79.2283`, then choose **Find on the map** and pick the right result.

**3. Line it up**

Drag on the plan to move the street map until the streets and the building outline match. Use the **Turn** slider to rotate it and **Plan size on the map (%)** if the size is off. **Map visibility** only changes how strongly the map shows in the editor.

**4. Save**

Choose **Save**. The map placement is saved together with the floor plan.

To start over, choose **Undo map changes**. To take the building off the map, choose **Remove from map**.

## Show or hide it

The street map is on by default once the building is placed. To turn it off for everyone, clear **General > Viewer defaults > Street map**.

Visitors can also hide or show the streets with the map button on the map.

> [!NOTE]

> The street map is not shown on non-touch displays.
