# BLE beacons

> Place Bluetooth beacons on the map for live positioning.

Live positioning uses iBeacon-compatible Bluetooth beacons, such as Minew i10. Each beacon is identified by its UUID, Major and Minor values.

Find the beacon settings in **Wayfinding & Positioning > BLE Beacon Positioning**. The **Minew i10 Beacon Setup** guide on the same tab explains how to configure the beacons themselves.

**1. Note the identifiers**

Write down the UUID, Major and Minor of each beacon. Each combination must be unique.

**2. Open the beacon editor**

Next to **Beacon map**, choose **Open Beacon Editor**.

**3. Place each beacon**

Pick the floor and click on the map where the beacon is installed. Enter its identifiers.

**4. Save and test**

Choose **Save**, then walk the building to check the blue dot. See [Live positioning](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/wayfinding/live-positioning.md).

> Label each beacon with its Major and Minor values, so a broken one is easy to find and replace.
