# Route adjustments

> Check which stores can be reached and fix routes that need help.

Most routes work without changes. Use route adjustments to check the result, fix a store that can't be reached, or close off an area visitors shouldn't use.

Open **Wayfinding & Positioning > Route adjustments > Edit routes**. CX prepares the map from your latest floor plan.

## The four tabs

| Tab | What it's for |
| - | - |
| Routes | How many places can be reached, what needs attention, and a route preview |
| Places | Which places appear in directions, and the door visitors use |
| Floor links | Elevators, escalators and stairs between floors. See [Floor links](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/wayfinding/vertical-connections.md). |
| Areas | Where visitors can walk |

## Check the result

The **Routes** tab shows something like **145 of 148 public places can be reached**. Under **Needs attention**, open a group and click an item to jump to it on the map.

Under **Route preview**, choose a starting point and a destination to see the route and the directions exactly as visitors will see them.

## Fix a store's entrance

1. Open the **Places** tab and select the store. **Unconnected places** in the filter shows only the ones that need help.
2. Use the locate button to find the entrance, or the move button to place it at the store's door, on the walkway.
3. If several doors were found, choose **Use this entrance** on the right one. **Add entrance** adds another one.

Untick **Include in public routes** to leave a place out of directions.

## Open or close an area

In the **Areas** tab:

* **Add area** opens a path where visitors can walk, for example a gap CX missed.
* **Remove section** closes off part of a floor, such as a staff corridor or a construction zone. Draw a **Rectangle** or a **Polygon**.
* Select a removed section and choose **Restore section** to open it again.

## Save

Choose **Save changes**. Visitors get the new routes the next time they open the map. The undo arrow next to it discards unsaved changes.

After you change the floor plan, choose **Refresh map** to see the latest version here. Your adjustments are kept.
