# Live positioning

> Show visitors a moving blue dot where they are.

With live positioning, the visitor's phone shows a blue dot where they are, so they don't need to choose a starting point. It uses Bluetooth beacons installed in the building.

## Before you turn it on

1. Make sure directions work well. See [Test routes](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/wayfinding/test-routes.md).
2. Install the beacons and place them on the map. See [BLE beacons](https://cxdocs.planpoint.io/wayfinding/beacons.md).
3. Turn on **Enabled** in **Wayfinding & Positioning > BLE Beacon Positioning**.

## Test it on site

Walk through the building with a phone: along open walkways, near entrances, around corners and between floors. The dot should stay still when you stand still and follow you when you walk.

Repeat the same walk after every change, so you can compare.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Moving beacons or changing the layout can affect accuracy. Test again after changes in the building.
